Nebraskaenergyobserver Talks About If You Don’t Defending Yourself, Who Will?

This has really been a good day at founding great post and articles especially this by nebraskaenergyobserver.

If You Don’t Defend Yourself; Who Will- by nebraskaenergyobserver

I’ve written before about the ancient duty of the freeman to defend himself and his society, as have others. We often couch this in terms of the 2nd Amendment which states it as a right, which it is, but it is more than that really, it is a duty. I wrote a while back about a mother who successfully defended herself and her 3 month old baby. Link Here.

Out here in what we sometimes call the boonies, weapons are something we take for granted (rather like a pair of pliers), I know you city people don’t understand but, say you’re pasturing cattle, what else are you going to do with coyotes (the four-legged kind). In a house I owned a few years ago, you could hear them from the bedroom, and I lived in town. there’s also rattlesnakes and even the occasional mountain lion (even if DNR denies it, I’ve seen the tracks). If you are a rancher your profit margin isn’t good enough to lose very many calves.

But what we are talking about here is what an old friend of mine, a Vietnam era Seal officer, calls two-legged varmints. Your profit margin is one thing; your life, and your families lives are quite another. Another thing about living out here is that when I had that house, I was thirty miles from the nearest police station. No matter what, it’s going to take some time to respond. The common saying is: “When you need the police in seconds, they’re only minutes away”, out here it’s closer to an hour.
