Return Of The Hobbits By Paula Helton

Return of the Hobbits by Paula Helton over at Canada Free Press

Eowyn: “The city has fallen silent. There is no warmth left in the sun”

The Supreme Court ruling upholding Obamacare cast a pall over the Shire and the Hobbits residing within its borders. Not since the Dark Lord’s proclamation in 2008 that he was five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America has this Hobbit felt more terrified and depressed.

I spent two and one-half hours alternately crying and trying to justify my continued involvement in the grass roots tea party movement.  Why continue to devote every waking hour to trying to restore the country I love when there seemed to be no way of stopping her destruction? How do I look my grandchildren in the eye and explain exactly what just happened to them? Do I tell them Grandma tried but failed and now I’m tired and dispirited and can fight no longer?

Foramir: “I do not believe the darkness will endure”

The Hobbits of the Shire are a proud, strong, freedom loving people and after hours sharing our shock, despair and disbelief, we remembered just why we fight.  Wondering why I should continue to fight became “How can I not?” I will look my grandchildren in the eye and explain the freedom they lost, but that Grandma will never stop fighting to gain it back for them.

Legolas: “The stars are veiled. Something stirs in the East. A sleepless malice. The eye of the enemy is moving. He is HERE”

Daily the spin continues to paint the opinion of Chief Justice Roberts upholding the individual mandate as Constitutional based on the taxing power of Congress as brilliant, sly and a gift to Republicans. We citizens of the Shire see it as the ultimate betrayal of his oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United State . It was not brilliant, sly or a gift. IT WAS JUDICIAL BETRAYAL BY A JUSTICE MORE CONCERNED WITH THE IMAGE OF THE COURT AS SEEN BY THE RADICAL LEFT THAN THE OATH HE TOOK.  You are entitled to your opinion, Justice Roberts, but ultimately that was all it was, an opinion.
