Brave Soldiers-Grant Davis

Brave Soldiers by Grant Davis

Where great men lay in row by row,

In foreign lands where poppies grow,

A place where silence fills the air,

We hope that none were in despair,

We know their life has succumbed now,

There was no braver, this I vow ,

We praise their sacrifice and deeds,

They answered to their countries needs

If I could give them solace there,

And show them that I really care,

I’d down beside each marker kneel,

And tell them all just how I feel,

About the sorrow kin has felt,

You played the cards that you are dealt,

Our loyalty and debt we owe,

To those who lay in row by row,
