Is A Brokered Convention Still Possible?

Delegate Drama- Brokered Convention Still Feasible by Mark over at Mark America

I just received this video via email, and I thought I should share this with readers because it provides an interesting report on the matter of delegate counts, and whether this primary is really over after all. More, it provides some interesting tidbits on the activities of the RNC. As you know, Ron Paul is still in the race, as is Mitt Romney, and the reason that’s important is because RNC Chairman Reince Priebus has directed staff to “open up channels of communications” between Romney’s campaign and the RNC. That would most definitely seem to violate the RNC’s rules while there are more than one contestant in the race. We’ve known the RNC was in the tank for Romney for some time, but once again, this serves as further evidence of how they will do anything to advance their chosen candidate. Here’s the video report from Ben Swann on Cincinnati’s WXIX News:

A Conservative Calls For A Third Party Palin Run By Mark

Mark answers the question of a third party.

A Conservative Calls for a Third Party Palin Run by Mark over at Mark America

Over at Westernjournalism.com, Kriz Zane has written an interesting piece suggesting that the way for conservatives to get out of the Romney predicament is for Sarah Palin to run as an independent. Zane seems to have gone through a genesis on this campaign not unlike my own, in that originally, Sarah Palin was Zane’s chosen candidate, but when that campaign didn’t materialize, the switch ultimately went to Newt Gingrich. What Zane argues, and I’m not entirely certain I agree, is that it seems for some reason that Gingrich is simply not acceptable to too many people, and of course, much like me, Zane finds Romney deplorable at best, and certain to get Obama re-elected. What is a conservative to do? Zane has decided to ask that Sarah Palin seek the presidency as a Tea Party candidate.

Zane sets aside the conventional wisdom that a third-party candidacy would merely split conservatives making it easier for Obama to defeat them. The idea is that Palin would be a transformational figure who would attract support from the Tea Party folks, and effectively make the GOP candidate moot. While it’s an interesting idea, the problem is that I don’t know the mechanics of how one would put such a candidate on the ballots in all fifty states even if the candidate were inclined to run at all, never mind as an independent. Of course, it can be rightly said that Sarah Palin surely has an independent streak, but I think the first step would be to see if the candidate has any such interest, and there’s no word from Zane on that question.

Suicide By Romneycare, Or Why Etch-a-Sketch Matters By Mark

Suicide By Romneycare, or Why Etch-a-Sketch Matters by Mark over at Mark America

I’ve warned conservatives for nearly as long as I’ve been blogging that to nominate Mitt Romney is to commit an act of electoral suicide. I’ve told you that when it comes time to run the general election campaign, Romney will abandon all of this talk about repealing Obamacare because he will be toast on this issue. Barack Obama knows this too, and it’s the reason every Democrat in Washington wants to see a Romney candidacy. For once, we got a little insight into the coming Romney betrayals, when his longtime Campaign adviser and Communications Director Eric Fehrnstrom on Wednesday likened Mitt Romney to an etch-a-sketch in terms of their ability to re-shape the campaign once the general election campaign begins. This was an admission of what would really happen to all of his talk about being a conservative should Mitt Romney secure the party’s nomination.

I’ve urged the other candidates to hammer Romney on this point, and to their credit, they have, but without debates lately, they’re not making much headway in the media that largely favors Mitt Romney, so the point isn’t being made. Consider it another gift, because now we get a little help from an unlikely source, who made mention of this issue, although not by name. The source? Barack Obama.

Democrats Should Fly A Flag More Suitable To Obama

I agree with Mark the Obama flag should be suited to Obama’s philosophy. Obama disdain for America shouldn’t be on the American flag because it is so not him. The Jolly Roger flag is more Obama’s style. Some people think Obama is a pirate anyway. Of course this is if the Democrats have to have a flag with Obama on it.  icon_rolleyes

Democrats Should Fly a Flag More Suitable to Obama by Mark over at Mark America

Rather than deface the American flag, leftists should consider a different standard. Barack Obama has noted his disdain for the US Flag much too frequently to paste his face into its blue field as some leftists have done. President Obama is not America, and he does not stand in place of the fifty states(or the imaginary seven he added during the 2008 campaign.) I realize he didn’t create the flag in question at the center of this controversy, but neither did he do as a responsible commander-in-chief should and step in to stop it or at least give a dressing-down by way of discouragement. Let’s face it: Barack Obama enjoys and encourages the cult of personality that swirls around him in the throngs of fawning socialists whose interest he pretends to represent. Since they’re socialists, which really translates into “thieves” I am submitting the design at left as more appropriate to both their philosophy and his.

If you’re not familiar with the controversy, you will want to read the Fox Nation article about the Lake County, Florida Democrat Party that flew a flag depicting Obama in the blue field with the stars and stripes over their headquarters. It accompanied a standard flag on their flagpole, but the fact that it was displayed in this fashion speaks to a sort of sickness that pervades the cultural left. They don’t like the flag, and to the degree they tolerate it, it’s more of a matter of condescension. They don’t like America much, either, so it’s really no surprise that these same people who support fundamental transformation of the country into a socialist state now display their intentions for a nation having more in common with the Venezuela of Hugo Chavez than with the country of our founding.

Who Is The Real Prostitute?

Mark raises a good question.

Will The Real “Prostitute” Stand Up- by Mark over at Mark America

Listening to the Democrats, you would think Rush Limbaugh had committed a war crime. His use of the terms “prostitute” and “slut” that he offered as possible descriptors of leftist agitator Sandra Fluke, and for which he subsequently apologized has been the rallying cry of every lefty feminist in sight, but Democrats generally as they seek to make as many miles on this as they can. The problem is that contrary to the shrill refrain, it’s not having quite the effect the Democrats had hoped, and what seems to be happening is that there has been a backlash against sponsors who withdrew advertising from Limbaugh’s show. This flies in the face of all we’ve been told about this episode by the mainstream media, but it also offers a little insight as to who the American people see as the real prostitute, as the double-standard in the media has become apparent with such leftists as Bill Maher getting a pass from certain politicians and political groups.

National Organization for Women(NOW) President Terry O’Neill was asked whether she thought the Obama SuperPAC that received a million dollars from the so-called ‘comic’ Bill Maher ought to return the money on the basis of what he has said about a number of prominent conservative women, including Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann. Her answer is only surprising to those who are naive about the motives of the NOW gang.

Whose Side Is Ann Coulter On?

There are times I think Ann Coulter is a Liberal Democrat in Republican clothing with the names she calls her fellow Republicans.

Ann Coulter Takes Another Swipe at Sarah Palin by Mark over at Mark America

One of the things that I have begun to notice is how similar the GOP establishment and its shills really are to Democrats. Ann Coulter is a Mitt Romney supporter, who endorsed the former Massachusetts Governor after her preference, Chris “Krispy Kreme” Christie announced he would not seek the nomination on October 4th of last year. Ever since then, Ann Coulter has been a non-stop verbal siren for Mitt Romney, a man she told us only a year ago would lose if nominated. Coulter is never satisfied to let sleeping dogs lie, or to bury the hatchet and move on, but I think she actually takes her shots at Sarah Palin in a desperate attempt to curry favor with the GOP establishment. In this video clip, she was asked about the notion of a brokered convention, and possible “outlier candidates,” and she decided the moment was right to take another miserable swipe at former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. It’s bad enough to be attacked by somebody in your own party, but when they resort to the same sort of cheap and nauseating tactics as the left, you know the attacker is a RINO.

Coulter lied. I have never heard or read one word from Sarah Palin whereby she suggests that she should be the Republican candidate if we wind up with a brokered convention. Many of her supporters would like to see that, but not once in all her media appearances has she ever said she would be that candidate, and she has explicitly said that the GOP establishment wouldn’t permit it. She’s likely right, and as if to prove the point, here is Ann Coulter jabbing at Governor Palin for something she never actually said. It makes one wonder what is next from Ann Coulter. Will she next tell us that Tina Fey’s portrayal of Governor Palin is accurate, or that Julianne Moore’s is any better?

Why “Compromise” Has Become A Dirty Word

Why “Compromise” Has Become a Dirty Word by Mark over at Mark America

Barbara Bush complained on Monday that “compromise” had become a “dirty word.” If that’s true, it is only as a result of how it has been abused by liberal to moderate Republicans, the media, and the liberal establishment that dominates the country. Mrs. Bush is part of that establishment, so quite naturally, she is unable to see this the way the conservative base of the party does, and since she’s one who considers herself smarter than the rest of we ignorant rubes, it is now probably high time that somebody explained the problem with “compromise,” not as it is defined in the dictionary, but as it has come to be understood by most grass-roots conservatives who recoil at the word.

A real “compromise” is the result of a process by which both parties to an exchange get some part of what they wanted in exchange for having yielded a little. A compromise is an exchange, if you will, trading value for value as in commerce, but it extends to many intangibles. That’s what compromise is supposed to be, but these last two decades and a bit more, that’s not what compromise has been in the United States. Instead, compromise has come to mean something else entirely, and if you ask conservatives, they will now tell you that it is approximately this: Republicans (particularly of the Establishment class) surrendering on principle to the left, gaining nothing, and getting nothing but a promise of “getting along” that never materializes, but always winds up in another kick in the teeth.

If Mrs. Bush doesn’t understand this, it’s because in her insular view of the world, she doesn’t see the kicks in the teeth, and the principles at stake are not hers. It’s a relatively easy matter to yield principles belonging to somebody else, and the Bush family has a long history of doing just that. They make a pretense at being conservative, but there’s little substance behind the claim, and if truth is told, more often than not, they’re at the root of many of the sell-outs conservatives have suffered over the last two-and-one-half decades. Even before the breaking of the “Read my lips” pledge of George H.W. Bush, the elder Bush administration had begun to back-track from the idea that his was a third Reagan term, which had been the basis for his election.

Sheriff Joe- Obama Birth Certificate

Sheriff Joe- Obama Birth Certificate a “Computer-Generated Forgery” by Mark over at Mark America

On Thursday, Maricopa County, Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio held a press briefing to talk about the investigation by the “Cold Case Posse” on questions surrounding Barack Obama’s origin and any documentation supporting the official narrative. Among the many documents examined and reviewed is the image of a birth certificate released by the White House last year in answer to Donald Trump on the matter. The Washington Times is reporting that investigators working for Arpaio have concluded that the image posted on the internet in PDF format appears to be a computer-generated forgery.

From the article:

He released a 10-page report detailing what his investigators said were “inconsistencies” in the text characters of the birth certificate image the White House released, and also questioned details of the computer file itself.

This has been the subject of a good deal of discussion since the release of the purported birth certificate last year, because many have suspected there is something unusual about the image in the file. The article continues:

The Dissolution Of The Social Compact

It is time to do some more thinking with Mark.

The Dissolution of the Social Compact by Mark over at Mark America

On Tuesday evening, Mark Levin posed a question on his radio show that bears serious consideration by we conservatives, and I think it’s time we discuss it. It’s not a matter of winning any longer, but whether we can stave off disaster. What Levin wondered aloud was whether our nation might be saved at all. He asked if it is too late, because there are too few people remaining who will oppose the advance of statism. Are we too few? Is it too late? Is the America we had known doomed? If so, what will we have instead? Our Republic stands on the brink of collapse, and the question we now face is what we can do about it. The signs are all around us: If we don’t turn things around in 2012, it may be that we never will.

Identifying the problem we face is simple, and it’s really what Alexis de Tocqueville proposed when he wrote that if the Democracy In America. Among all of the other important and prescient things he warned, these may have been the two we should have etched in stone on the steps of Congress, and on every class-room door in the country:

“The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public’s money.” ― Alexis de Tocqueville, Democracy in America

That helps to describe our predicament, and this punctuates it:

“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations has been 200 years.” ― Alexis de Tocqueville

Wyoming Preparing For Disaster

Wyoming Preparing for Disaster; Washington DC Making One by Mark over at Mark America

Leave it to the good people of Wyoming to bring enough pressure to bear on their politicians that they have now actually begun to prepare for the worst crises that could arise, as they consider the condition of the Federal government, its debt, and the potential for civil unrest. They’re even considering what to do about their armed forces should the worst occur, and this landlocked state is now considering how they would acquire an aircraft carrier. That may seem just a little hard to swallow for some, but I think it speaks to the willingness of their legislature to prepare for the worst. I believe the measures are prudent, and if only we could get the politicians in Washington DC to see it their way, there might well be a chance we’d avoid at least any “man-caused disasters.” The sneering elites in Washington think this is high comedy, but for down-to-Earth Americans, not only in Wyoming, but elsewhere across the expanses of “fly-over country,” there is a keen awareness of how much trouble we’re facing.

In Washington DC, they have your money upon which to rely in order to continue their spending habits. Out in Wyoming and around the country, state and local governments have seen a general reduction in revenues. Property values are down, so property tax receipts are also reduced, and with so many homes in foreclosure, there’s been a corresponding rise in delinquency on property taxes owed. In Washington DC, they just print up another batch, and they don’t have to worry about the cash because they can always raise taxes, or borrow more. This is at the heart of the disconnect between the permanent ruling class in Washington DC that sees no emergency looming, but instead suspects it can make due on your back indefinitely.

What If Christians In America Reacted Like Muslims In Afghanistan

Mark raises a very good question. It worth the read to see his analysis of the situation.

What If Christians in America Reacted Like Muslims in Afghanistan- by Mark over at Mark America

I can’t help but notice that the President and his friends in the leftist establishment press are offering a dangerous precedent for anybody who wants to notice it. As Barack Obama apologizes to the Taliban, Afghans, and Muslims everywhere for the inadvertent burning of a few copies of the Qur’an, the reaction is even more strident and increasingly violent. The more violent they become, the more Obama and his friends in the press grovel, to the extent that he’s now got the entire military chain of command making apologies and running around in panic that they have offended Islam. Watching all of this, I had a sudden thought: What would happen if American Christians reacted to the contraception mandate in precisely the same way? Would Obama grovel before them too, or like his bowing all over the Middle East, is that reserved solely for the Muslim world? To watch this president in action is to observe a slow-motion train-wreck, if you believe he’s incompetent, but I no longer hold that view. No president could act so recklessly. If Christians reacted in a more vociferous manner, would President Obama apologize and grovel for them too, or would he crack down on his own countrymen, as I suspect?

This display couldn’t be more disgusting, and yet, given the way Christians and others of faith(excepting Muslims) are treated by the current administration, maybe that’s the answer: Americans of faith are simply too docile, and too willing to “turn the other cheek.” Of course, as Americans of faith have long since discovered, when it comes to the Obama administration, and the mainstream media, turning the other cheek has begun to give the appearance of somebody watching a tennis match. Christians particularly have taken a beating from this administration, and Obama’s willing accomplices in the media carry out shameless attacks on people of faith under the general auspices of “reporting the news.”

I realize Christians are not very likely to “go Taliban” as the Afghans have been doing this week, but the reaction of the Obama administration may offer a bit of a clue. I’m not advocating violence, of course, but maybe it’s time to put together a “million Christian march” or some such thing to remind the administration Who is in charge. Apparently, the administration is quite fearful of the mess now ongoing in Afghanistan, and at the rate things are going, I can see us evacuating via helicopter off the roof of our embassy there. Not satisfied to turn the fight into Vietnam out in the field, the liberals are accomplishing the seemingly impossible: We’re going to wind up with video out of Afghanistan very much like we saw as the United States evacuated from Saigon, leaving people desperate to escape clamoring to be lifted out too. Leftists everywhere will celebrate.

Is Iran a “Rational Actor-” by Mark over at Mark America

When you see that even scientists have become so irrational, you know you’re not dealing with an ordinary regime, or rational actors who can be counted upon to follow norms of behavior as we perceive them to be in the West. The Israeli National News is reporting that the Iranian nuclear scientist who was assassinated in Tehran in January was very much concerned with and focused on the annihilation of Israel, according to his widow. Whether she was prompted into this statement by the Ahmedinejad government, or whether she volunteered the information on her own, this speaks to the plainly irrational desires of that regime. There are those who suggest that there’s no proof Iran is an irrational actor, but I think that flies in the face of more than thirty years of evidence to the contrary.

Barack Obama IS NOT Incompetent

Barack Obama IS NOT Incompetent by Mark over at Mark America

I have listened to Republicans discussing Barack Obama’s various policy failures, and I have noticed a trend. Among Republican moderates, there is a tendency to say that Barack Obama is clueless, and that “he just doesn’t get it.” This willingness to permit him to claim “good intentions” is a farce. Genuine conservatives examine the policies of Barack Obama, and will subsequently conclude the ugly truth, and it isn’t that Obama is incompetent. Instead, they see in his action a clear and unambiguous malevolence that should not be hidden behind a facade of mere incapacity for the job. Barack Obama’s policies are designed to damage and diminish the United States, and pretending he’s merely a bumbling dolt doesn’t address the gravity of our national situation. I understand well why the RINO set does this, but it’s time for somebody to speak up in candid opposition. Among the remaining candidates, only two show any willingness to do so, and from my point of view, this disqualifies any who won’t.

Mitt Romney says “Obama is in over his head.” That’s pure nonsense. Barack Obama hasn’t issued executive orders and regulations of the sort we have seen from his administration because he’s “in over his head.” The ban on drilling had nothing to do with his intelligence or capacity to govern, just as the Keystone XL pipeline decision was not born of simple incompetence. These were carefully calculated decisions that are intended to reduce the amount of oil available to the market, with at least two goals, both designed to weaken our country and burden its people, thus wrecking their lives.

The Obama Vaca-o-thon

These vacations of the Obamas have me upset like Mark. There no excuse for all these vacations they taken.  fiery4

The Obama Vaca-o-thon by Mark over at Mark America

Forgive me if I seem upset. I know the job of President can be stressful and taxing(and with this clown, taxing in more ways than one,) but I must ask about the tally of the Obama family vacations. I will grant you that in the entirety of my adult life(I’m now 46,) if I include even the three-day honeymoon I took with my wife, I can come up with exactly six vacations, totaling 46 days, thus making me atypical, but sixteen in three years? That’s living pretty well on our dime, if you ask me. What is particularly irksome to me is that in many of these cases, the President isn’t present, so we’re paying for security for three-fourths of the first family, plus friends, relatives, and all the rest with a frequency that has become obnoxious. Michelle Antoinette ought to give it a rest, because while I don’t begrudge her a vacation, and in fact hope she gets a life-long vacation next January, I think it’s well past time that somebody speak up about this.

I’ve done a little calculation based on the numbers made public after these trips, and I have concluded that Michelle Obama is spending more on security alone per hour than I have spent on the total of those six vacations I’ve taken over the last twenty-eight years. That’s obscene, and any self-respecting person in that position would know it, and particularly in this crushingly bad economic condition, when we measure every gallon of fuel we’re expending, I’m betting that her travels required more in a single trip in dollars worth of fuel than most families will make in 2012.

Palin Derangement Syndrome Part II- The Mania Continues

I like Mark’s theory about Palin Derangement Syndrome.

Palin Derangement Syndrome Part II- The Mania Continues by Mark over at Mark America

I must admit that when I read the theories put forward by the PDS crowd, I always get a chuckle, because they’re like one of those bad parody movies. On the one hand, their hatred of former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is maniacal, but on the other, it is just another expression of their sadly disjointed thinking. The latest furor arises from her remarks over the last week about the possibility of a brokered convention, and all their attempts to explain it. Of course, to a certain degree, Palin supporters wonder about the same things, but theirs is a view with a hopeful leaning. That’s not true of everybody who is considering the meaning of her remarks on the subject, and watching them flail is actually a bit entertaining until you remember the hatred that drives it. There’s something disturbing about the conflicted, self-contradictory theories they offer to their unsuspecting audiences, but that doesn’t deter them so much as to whip them into a frenzy. I’ll leave it to my readers to judge which is the most frighteningly insane, but the take-away is this: In leftist lunatic land, “she must be up to something.”

The first theory from the blogging space-balls is that Governor Palin is a modern day Sun Tzu, applying his maxim that “All War is deception.” In this theory the woman who they have recently demeaned as “Caribou Barbie” and other smears aimed at describing her as an airhead is instead an evil genius who has conducted a stealth campaign by which she will swoop in at the supposed brokered convention just in time to steal away with the nomination and make her way to election day without so much as a whimper from any other would-be candidate within the Republican party. Of course, I know many Palinistas who wish fervently that this would come to pass, but that the same liberal minds with a four-year history of portraying Palin as less than brilliant now find it suits their purposes to propose that she is instead cunning, and has been sand-bagging all along is a remarkable study in self-contradiction. Of course, these are the same half-wits who still insist on bizarre conspiracy theories that Trig isn’t really Palin’s biological son, so logical consistency isn’t exactly their strong suit.

Knowing the Difference Between “Can” and “Should”

Knowing the Difference Between “Can” and “Should” by Mark over at Mark America

yes_we_can_small

“What can one do?” Clearly, that list is far more extensive than the more important one: “What should one do?” I can this moment walk into my kitchen, find a fork, and jam it into my forehead. I can do all sorts or self-destructive things, but the question isn’t a matter of what I can do, but instead what I should do. Knowing this difference is something we hope to teach to our children with enough clarity and just enough severity that they understand the distinction. It is a lesson far too many seem to forgo on their passage from childhood into adulthood. More often than not, those who do so become annoyed when you point it out. They say in childishly obstinate petulance that “it’s my life(or my body) and I can do what I want.” My question for those who hold this view of life is ever: If nobody doubts that you can do a thing, why do you hold no doubts about whether you should do it? This question is at the root of a deep cultural divide, and it thoroughly explains the collapse of our country.

Governments can do almost anything at all, particularly with the popular support of their people. Does this mean a government should do anything at all? It is not inconceivable that one could form a majority coalition that would demand that we eat the rich. Literally. We can do that, but the question remains: Should we? We could create any number of similar political majorities that would propose equally obnoxious ideas, and seek to implement them in law. Should we? Great disasters in human death tolls made by other men have been carried out on the basis of the idea that since a thing can be accomplished, that it necessarily should be done, but the truth is that ‘should’ doesn’t necessarily follow ‘can.’

How to Stop Barack Obama

How to Stop Barack Obama by Mark over at Mark America

obama-red1 We are under constant attack by Barack Obama’s administration. He is rapidly converting the United States into a vulnerable, weak nation that cannot defend itself against external threats, but polices its own people with an iron fist. Evidence of this thesis comes from all quarters, and conservatives are placing all their hopes in the coming presidential election. The thinking is that if only we can get the right candidate, and if only we can nominate and elect that candidate, once in office, that person will change everything. Ladies and gentlemen, if you believe it will be so simple, you’re sadly mistaken. This isn’t going to be easy, and it’s not going to happen without pain, but if you want to defeat Barack Obama, you will need to learn one word, and make it stick for all times, irrespective of the cost. You must learn to say “no.”

The Obama radicals intend to overturn 230 years of liberty. They now inspect brown-bag lunches brought to school by small children, making sure the meal complies with the Department of Health and Human Services(or Michelle Obama.) There is only one way to defeat such a thing, and parents in the country need to find some ‘intestinal fortitude’ and take ownership over the lives of their children, as should have been the case all along. Say “No.” Don’t send your kids to these schools. Organize sick-outs. Organize whatever is needed. All you need to do to stop this is to refuse to comply with it. Refuse.

Brokered Convention Talk and Sarah Palin Create a Stir

Brokered Convention Talk and Sarah Palin Create a Stir by Mark over at Mark America

Eric Bolling’s hand was stretching across to Governor Palin to thank her for the interview at its conclusion, when my phone rang. I answered, and the first words I heard were: “How do we have a brokered convention?” I explained it in broad terms to my friend, who was ready now to go to war with the GOP, Democrats, or anybody who might stand in his way. I heard the call-waiting beep, and I excused myself, and fielded the next call. “Did you see that? How do we make sure that if there is a brokered convention, she’s picked, and not somebody else like Jeb?” I asked only: “Who’s speaking?” My hearing is failing as I get older, and sometimes I can’t differentiate particular voices over the phone. Nevertheless, once I knew to whom I was speaking, we discussed the matter at hand. Everybody who called wanted to know how a brokered convention could be forced, or how it would work, and if it could really work at all.

This went on from the moment of the conclusion of the Bolling-Palin interview until late into the night. Friends, associates, activists, and many others called me, and all of them wanted to know how to go about making sure of two things, and precisely two things: How can we make sure there is a brokered convention, and how can we make certain that Sarah Palin is the choice?

I will tell you now what I told them in simplified terms, as I’m sure over the next twenty-four hours, we’ll see people with more facts on the specifics: It still all comes down to delegates, but not merely numbers of them, but instead also who will be those delegates. To accomplish the reality of a brokered convention isn’t all that difficult in terms of the mechanics. Simply put, you just need to deny 1144 delegates to any of the candidates, and the best way for that to happen is to spread them around. If Santorum wins one, and then Romney wins one, and Gingrich wins one, and maybe eventually Ron Paul wins one, and this cycles around long enough to deny any that magic number of delegates, what you will have is a brokered convention. That’s a fact.

Deaths From Global Warming Hoax Soar

Deaths From Global Warming Hoax Soar by Mark over at Mark America

The Canada Free Press has published an article that aptly makes the case that the Global Warming Hoax is now responsible for a growing number of winter deaths among Europeans and others who have succumbed to the cold due to the expense of heating their homes, particularly amongst the elderly. This makes perfect sense, as the elderly on fixed incomes struggle to pay for their medicines, heat their homes, and buy groceries. The UK and others in Europe have been closing down coal-fired power plants, driving up the cost of electricity, and generally diminishing the standard of living. We will soon experience this same phenomenon here in the US, even in summer, as Texas will lose three coal-fired plants this year, to be shut down in accordance with EPA mandates. Instead of freezing to death, our elderly will bake in their homes come high summer, and you can bet the death toll will rise here too.

This is all the result of a logically and scientifically bankrupt notion of “Global Warming” or “Climate Change” that is being pounded into the heads of your children at your local public schools, despite the fact that much of these theories have now been debunked, and the science upon which these government actions have been taken demonstrated as biased and fraudulent. Much of this is based on the mistaken theory that Carbon Dioxide(CO2) drives temperatures, when it now turns out that the opposite may in fact be the case. Rather than exhaling and adding to Global Warming, it seems, the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere is highly dependent upon the temperature of the oceans, since they sequester a large amount of the world’s CO2. As temperatures rise from any cause, the oceans’ carrying capacity for CO2 rises.

The question remains: While we experienced some minor warming over the last two centuries, the cause of that warming remained unclear. We actually experienced a “little ice age” that tapered off through that period, leading to another question: What is the actual “normal” mean surface temperature on planet Earth? That turns out to be a rather more difficult question to answer, particularly because there are overlapping cycles that may even have a cosmic source, such as our solar system’s relation to the spiral arms of the Milky Way. What this implies is that our climate may indeed be dominated by factors well outside of human control or influence, and that our contribution to any alleged “climate change” is incidental to the natural processes at work.

Note to Samuel L. Jackson- I Vote With My Dollars Too

Note to Samuel L. Jackson- I Vote With My Dollars Too by Mark over at Mark American

Over the weekend, the story came out that actor Samuel L. Jackson has told Ebony Magazine that he voted for Barack Obama because he is black. Jackson went on to say he didn’t care much about politics, but was instead simply voting as others, allegedly for somebody who “look like them.” This is typical fare for Jackson, apparently:

“I voted for Barack because he was black. ’Cuz that’s why other folks vote for other people — because they look like them,” the actor recently told Ebony magazine via Page Six. “That’s American politics, pure and simple. [Obama’s] message didn’t mean [bleep] to me.”
