Libs Say the Darndest Things by James Lewis over at American Thinker

In my never-ending effort to understand the liberal mind, I'm beginning to scribble down nutty sayings from the liberals I happen to run into.  I call it Libs say the darnedest things.

This idea started for me a couple of weeks ago, when a lefty cat-lady (a big demographic) told me with a hypnotic stare, "There are no facts."

Wow.  Floored in one.  I was left gaga.  Couldn't figure out what to say that would get through her concrete space helmet.

So I staggered off and had a drink.

This one has gone viral in the lefto-psychosphere.  You get 2,560,000 google hits for "There are no facts."

Such little mindworms tell us about our age of ignorance and superstition.

Obama has contributed his own pearls to the genre, like "The private economy is doing fine" when unemployment is at 8.2%, about 7% of American workers are underemployed, and another big chunk are on permanent disability, making for about 20% of the work force not working.

Wow.

The Bamster is an endless fountain of oddball quotes, and half the country doesn't notice anything wrong. At least Jimmy Carter got bitten by a killer rabbit.

Heard about Obama's Relativity Theory of the U.S. Constitution?  It's really true.

A couple of years ago, the Washington Post boasted about Obama's brilliance as a student at Harvard Law.  Just to prove the point, a WaPo reporter cited Professor Larry Tribe's thank-you footnote for Obama, in an article claiming that Einstein's Relativity Theory applies to the U.S. Constitution.  It appears that constitutional time and space can be twisted around heavy objects, like the heavy-duty intellects of Barry and Larry, twin stars of the legal cosmos.

Or something.

Obama is pretty awful, but Joe Biden...well, that's shooting ducks in a pond.

Here are a few I've picked up.  Please add your own in the comments below.

1. A couple college-educated libs talking about insecticides that are safe to use around pets: "It's organic.  It's safe."

The organic poisons that will kill you include arsenic, apple seeds, cherry leaves, unsoaked kidney beans, cassava roots, and uncooked potato skins.  But they're organic!  They can't hurt you!

This is sheer, unvarnished superstition, straight from the Dark Ages.  Every other liberal believes it.

Or how about...

2. "My kids will have free health care for life."

Told to me by a rich but really eccentric lib, with two unemployed children in their 30s living in San Francisco.

Guess why they can't find jobs.  Right.

3. "Marijuana is a medicine."

The PubMed biomedical database has 648 scientific articles on the toxicity of marijuana.  It seems that maryjane can trigger schizophrenia in some teenagers, and that it may cause "paranoia" (severe anxiety) in chronic users.  Countries like Egypt and India have used bhang for centuries and have long linked it to low-level depression and poor motivation.  Cannabis makes male mice infertile.  Smoking rather than chewing bhang causes clouds of burn particles to get into your lungs with every breath you take.  That's one reason why cigarettes cause lung cancer.  It's not the nicotine; it's the burn particles in the smoke.

The only nugget of truth in this urban myth is that synthetic THC can help manage the pain of some cancers in carefully controlled doses with near-perfect purity.  But the marijuana plant in your backyard has thousands of molecules beyond THC, with completely unknown effects, different toxins in different plant varieties, and hitting your lungs and bloodstream in totally uncontrolled amounts.  It's a crapshoot.

Scientists aren't allowed to study people smoking joints, but about 100 million Americans are running their own trials at home.  In about ten years we'll find out what happens to them as the cumulative effects of decades of dope-smoking start to take their toll.  Baby-boomers may actually end up saving Medicare, because they may go down long before Social Security runs out.  I don't think that's good, but self-inflicted ignorance carries a high price.

A lot of modern America makes more sense when you realize that tens of millions of people are getting chronically stoned on mind-altering drugs.  Alcohol is not hallucinogenic.  Being a drunk is bad enough, but now you can have 57 varieties of mind-altering chemicals at your local high school.

The media won't tell you if a popular drug is toxic, because they're the biggest dope fiends around.  Ever wonder why celebrities seem to die before their time?

Here's another stunner.

4. "I voted for Obama because Hillary is too white."

This one came from a young, unemployed man in 2008.  He still doesn't have a job, is still living on Mom's income, but can't figure out why.

5. "It wasn't really rape-rape."

I don't know if this gets a pass from the International Society for Goofy Lib Sayings, because it's from Whoopi Goldberg, who is technically a comedienne.  The "not really rape-rape" she was referring to was committed on a 13-year-old girl by an adult narcissist of the Hollywood type, who is now idolized by the cult that runs the darker nooks of our celebrity culture.

6. "Gangsta rap is art." 

This one goes under Things Liberals Are Not Allowed to Question.  They are commanded by Lady Gaia to believe in Darwinian evolution even if they know nothing about it -- but they are strictly barred from questioning the profound artistic value of gangsta rap.

Go figure.

7. "How can they stand being so hated?"

Finally, a little gem from a nice Episcopalian lady at a get-together with cookies and everybody being painfully nice.  She had this one all lined up and ready to launch, as I could tell from the glitter in her eye.  The "they" she was talking about was Israel.

"How can Israel stand being so hated?"

How about sixty years of oil-fueled hate propaganda?  But I didn't say that, because she had me in shock.  I spend a lot of time being floored by the things liberals say.

Months later I thought of the perfect answer: "How could Jesus stand being so hated?"

I don't know if Episcopalians still believe in Jesus, so even that zinger might have bounced off her Grade A mental armor.  But you can think of a slew of examples.

"How could blacks stand being so hated in the Jim Crow South?"

"How can Coptic Christians stand being so hated by the Muslim Brotherhood?"

"How could witches in the age of Cromwell stand being so hated?"

"How could the Jews of the Holocaust stand being so hated?"

Come to think of it, all the celebrated victims of the left are hated, or at least live with the idea that they are.  Being hated is the very essence of liberal victimhood.

Or as the King James Bible renders Isaiah 53-3:

          He was despised

          rejected

          rejected of men; 

          a man of sorrows,

          and acquainted with grief...

Remember that tune in Handel's Messiah?  You can probably hum it.

Naturally, I didn't think of the Jesus comeback, because I was left floundering at "How can they stand being so hated?" -- a single sentence that captures endless depths of ignorance.

But my nice Episcopalian lady knew in her bones that she had the answer to all that noisy fuss in the Middle East, not to mention the question of war and peace through human history.

Talk to your local liberal.  They believe they have all the answers, which may be the real peak of arrogant ignorance.  To prove their moral superiority, they carefully avoid reading the news.  That's another gem I hear over and over again.

Would I trust Obama to protect me? My answer to this question is no. Obama’s actions tell me he is not to be trust. I don’t blame Israel if they decided not to tell Obama when they attack Iran. Obama can be a stool pigeon. Not to mention, Obama tends to procrastinate.

In dealing with Iran, the whole "international community" is going "You first!" Who gets to fight the cobra first? There are no eager volunteers.

 

For three years Obama has been trying sweet reason on the cobra of Tehran, which is not famously susceptible to it. Obama has been covering his own rear end with millions of goofy American liberals who live in permanent denial. Covert actions like Stuxnet have had some effect, but not enough. Tehran's Armageddon machine is therefore steaming straight to the biggest iceberg in history, and the only hope is that the suicidal ideology they have been preaching for thirty years is a phony front. That is a faint hope indeed, and not one on which to base the survival of a nation.

 

Various sources now report that Israel's PM Netanyahu is going to ask Obama to swear -- by whatever is holy to him (which isn't much) -- that the United States will take military action if trade sanctions fail.

In the next 60 days Obama's presidential career will finally meet that concrete wall of reality. He will either fail or survive. Trouble is, he might take many innocent people with him if he fails.

 

So far, the most hyped-up and unqualified president in US history has shown no capacity at all to act, in the face of a do-or-die challenge. This is the ultimate test of character, the one that John F. Kennedy met well enough in the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis. This is the test that Jimmy Carter failed so miserably that Ronald Reagan beat him handily in the following election. This time, abject apologies to ranting Pakistani mobs will not make a smidgen of difference. Even Axelrod's disinformation campaigns can't save Obama now, because that 3 am phone call is almost sure to come by April Fool's Day of 2012, when the real fool will stand revealed to the world.

Inferiority Of Liberalism

Liberalism used to be a respectable position for intelligent, well-meaning, and informed people. That was a long time ago. No longer.

 

Today the "liberal" faith requires an extraordinary act of ignorance, purposeful forgetting, and constant spinning. To be a faithful "liberal" today you have to forget the whole 20th century, and its 100 million victims of the radical left -- that is, victims of Obama's brand of leftism. You have to shut out of your mind the fact that Obama hails from today's Chicago Machine, the most storied and undemocratic political machine since Boss Tweed.

 

You have to ignore the bloody history of black nationalism in America, where Obama's hero Malcolm X was assassinated by the followers of Elijah Muhammad. You have to ignore the racial blackmail that has controlled American politics since the rise of the post-MLK "civil rights" movement, when all the heroic actions of a few civil rights campaigners like Martin Luther King, Jr., was taken over by dangerous racial demagogues like Rev. Al, the Rev. Wright and the radical left.

 

All those facts have to be sunk into your capacious black hole of memory, along with the history of the Soviet Union and its 100 million helpless victims. The Nazis only had 13 years to kill six million Jews, and even more Gypsies, homosexuals, Poles, democratic Germans, and of course, the religious. The Soviets and Chinese had seventy years or longer, and killed correspondingly more millions of victims with the same style of sociopathic control freakery. North Korea is the biggest Communist museum piece today, but nobody on the liberal side seems to take any responsibility for it -- just as they deny their alliance with Muslim fascists all over the world, who are agitating for another century of mass murder.

Phony Saints

 

The Phony Saints of Liberal Land by James Lewis

I don't know any conservatives who think they are saints. Funny thing -- I know lots of liberals who just know with absolute certainty that they are holier than thou. (This means thou, buddy!) Since they are saints, those who disagree with them have to be...yes, that's right.

 

I know rad-liberals who run a small college that keeps firing its faculty employees, over and over again. For very saintly reasons, of course. Every rad-liberal in the place is passionately pro-union, except for their own little Empire of Good People, which is allowed to breach employment contracts and fire people at will. Because they are Good People.

 

I know saintly liberal Christians who get mighty nasty in church politics, and saintly liberal Jews who can't seem to keep charitable boards from falling apart. All that sainthood, nobody ever questions it (you don't question a liberal, or watch out!), and they can't get along with each other.

 

Liberals voted for Obama -- not because they knew anything about him (they still don't), but because they thought America needed a good whuppin' for its misbehavior.

The title of this article caught my eye because the left to me don’t seem to be much afraid of us. If the left were scared they would run like cowards or try to reform in my opinion. Of course, I have been known to be wrong so it was worth the read.

Obama is a cuckoo's nestling, a little gift from the obsessively anti-American left, who has been dropped deceptively into our mainstream politics. Cuckoos are called "brood parasites" because they drop their eggs into strangers' nests, to leave the hard work of incubating and raising the young bird to a deceived mother bird. Deception happens all the time in the animal kingdom, like all the times my cat fakes me out by mewing at the door, only to stand there and sniff the air when I get up and open up for her. Cuckoos have deception built into their genes.

 

Obama is himself a grand deception. He used to look arrogant beyond belief, but now he's humble, wearing Jimmy Carter sweaters, sitting all alone in a baseball stadium munching a hot dog, and leaning back on his "family couch" next to Michelle, with the television cameras taking a narrow angle as if they're sitting crowded together in a double-wide trailer. (Like the rest of us).

 

The only trouble with Obama's phony humility is that narcissists like him rarely change. The Norwegians gave him a Nobel Peace Prize just for getting elected, but they should have given him an Academy Award. This is world-class conmanship. Behind the scenes he's more arrogant than ever.

I am not a Hillary Clinton fan but I do think she got shafted by the Obama and the Democrats. She does have an ‘axe to grind’.

Jimmy Carter was not just defeated by Ronald Reagan in the 1980 election. Carter, the president who could easily be confused with his own floppy sweater, was first knocked down by Smilin' Ted Kennedy, who was entitled to be president because he was a Kennedy. (Don't ask, this is how Democrats think.) Kennedy ran against Carter because the other Democrats were less prone to suicide than they are today. They still lost big.

 

Obama started the fight three years ago, in the minds of feminists, by tarring Hillary and Bill as "racists." Today we are getting media leaks from the Clintons: "I don't know what the future holds," said Bill the other day, going wink, wink, nudge, nudge, and looking sincere. Liberal snitch Paul Bedard said it more clearly in the US News blog: Hillary Campaign Conspicuously Emerges.

 

This could become a grudge match. You can call smear good and honorable Americans with the racist brush all you want, but just don't call another Demagogue a racist. It's not polite. They have ways of making you pay. And feminists are the nastiest of them all. Harvard's left feminists ate President Larry Summers for breakfast one day. And Hillary's supporters have been boiling with rage since she lost to the Chicago Machine.
